Abstract

The concept of God's election of believers is a difficult concept to explain, and has even been the subject of debate by theologians for centuries. This concept of God's election of believers is taught in Romans. There are three chapters in Romans that discuss the election of God, namely chapters 9, 10, and 11. Researchers in this case will focus more on chapter 9 which is the article that is most often used as a subject of debate by Calvinism and Arminianism about the doctrine of God's election. God's election is an eternal act of God choosing a number of people before the world was created to be saved not based on that person's good works, but based on God's perfect sovereignty.
