Abstract

The intertestamental period exerted a strong influence on New Testament theology. An understanding of the theology of the Jewish intertestamental period will explain how an interpreter should observe the New Testament text. Failure to understand the theology of intertestamental results in a lack of resources in studying New Testament theology. This paper describes the messianic concept that developed from the intertestamental period to the New Testament period.
